Where I'm From Journal 7 Jackie Lewis

I am from Cincinnati from Ben & Jerry’s and Baskin Robbins.
I am from the small two bedroom house where a lot of arguments and fights took place.
I am from the oak tree old as the century is long.
I am from the family gathering and where all the wise old women grandma and Shropshire’s and Lewis’.
I am from the sharing of tales and advice.
From the legends and tales.
I am from the Christian faith.
I’m from New Richmond, Ohio and apple and pumpkin pies.
From the shores of the Ohio River where my uncle died, the dedicated fisherman and the Olympic like swimmer.
I am from a small house in the country where self worth is measured by compassion
