Journal entry 2- Amanda Griffin

One thing that holds special meaning to me would be my dad box. It's a hot pink pencil box and inside I have put specific items that remind me of my dad that passed away when I was going into 7th grade. There are many things inside that bring back some memory of my dad. Inside some things you would find would be his police ring, cherry chap stick which he used on a daily basis a gold cross, and a box of Luden's cherry cough drops. We used to eat those cough drops all the time and laugh about how they said they were a cough drop. When I open the box it smells like cherry's from the cough drops being closed up in the box all the time. When I am upset or missing my dad I bring this box out and open it up and remind myself of all the funny times we had together. All the items in the box I found in his coat pocket after he died, so some of them had been used and others not opened yet. This box to me is very special and holds a lot of sentimental value and I will keep forever.

  1. What a great box. I like the detail about the cherry cough drops, it gives it a very personal feel and I can almost smell them :)
