Hi, my name is Mrs. Carla Denise McNeal and I am the mother of 3 children, Jessica age 23, Dominic age 13 and Trey age 10. My grandson's name is Roman he is 23 months old. My skills as a writer are not bad, they have moments when it could have been a little better, my goal is to do well, do better and do my best from now on. Writing to me is a way of releasing my inner thoughts to see and reveal to me what I am feeling and thinking, a way of making it more real. Subject matter can sometimes be a problem in my writing, meaning I am not comfortable with the subject. Criticism helps me become a better writer so long as it is done in a manner that helps and lifts me up.
My writing goals for the end of the quarter is to write as some of my favorite authors or people who I admire and have read their memoirs about their life and life's lessons.
The only worst writing experience I have had is one which I am not ready to write about or share; in all honesty that would be the only case scenario on writing that I had a bad experience about.

My Writing Skills By: Shante' Berry
Hello my name is Shante' Berry. I am a Criminal Justice Student at Miami Jacobs and I want to become a homicide detective. My skills so far as a writer at this point of time are strong, but there are some weaknesses I have that I need to work on. With the weaknesses that I have in writing I do actualy like to write.
Even though I have weaknesses in my writing I do like the research part getting to learn new things on different topics. I also like to free write. Writing about nothing in particular, but just practice the skills I need to practice. Sometimes there are times that I don't like to write and that's on things that are boring.
My strengths in writing is knowing what I want to write about and being able to organize it for the reader to understand it better. Some weaknesses I have in writing is getting my introduction and conclusion paragraghs together. I can't seem to draw the reader's attention in the right way, or I can't wrap the paper up without getting off track.
The areas that I need help in is getting together the introduction paragraph and my conclusion paragrapgh. My writing goals for the end of this quarter is to keep practicing to get better.
My most positive writing experience was when I wrote a paper on The Great Gatsby back in High school. It was fun and easy because the book was easy to comprehend.
My worst writing was a paper on Hamlet. In high school I couldn't get the paper right, nor in college I couldn't get the paper right.

Introduction~Amanda Glacken
Hello, I am Amanda Glacken. I am 22 years old and currently a court reporting student. When I'm not at school I am delivering pizzas for Pizza Hut, or spending time with my 2 year old daughter, Kaylie. I think my skills as a writer are decent. I don't mind writing, I just don't like sharing my writing with other people. I think it is because I am not sure if what I write is good enough.
My strengths in writing would be spelling and grammar. My weaknesses are procrastination and motivation. I definitely need to work on starting my assignments sooner than I do. I also need to work on where to put commas. My writing goal for this quarter would be to get A's on all of my papers.
My most positive writing experience was in high school when I had a combination class of Advanced Composition and Ecology. We had Ecology first, and then Advanced Composition. We would write about our experiences going to the park and learning about whatever it is we learned. That was a pretty good experience.
My worst writing experience was when I was about 11. I had a Tweety Bird diary that I wrote in everyday. One day my little brother found it and read it. I was so embarrassed and mad. After that happened, I never kept a diary again.

Nekia Lewis (journal 8) Anything
My son is 4 years old and he turning big boy at such a young age. The other morning when I dropped him off at school. As I was leaving I told him to give me a kiss and that I loved him . He looked around to see if any of his little friends were watching, than he turned and gave me his cheek and as he walked away from me he wiped my kiss off and grinned at me. My feeling where hurt. I thought that kids didn't start doing that kind of stuff until they got into elementary school. It made me realize that he's aware of what other kids think and say. I guess that my little man is growing up

I would have to disagree with the statement that: Teachers have the primary responsibility for installing values in children. I strongly disagree with that because children are first taught by their parents and others around them. Values are something that should be instilled in a child at home before they are sent to school or out in the world. It's not the teachers or socities responsibility to teach other peoples children how to behave. We are taught about values at any early age, only your family can and should install their beliefs and values. Parent are what mold children into the adults that they grow up to be.
